Blogaversary Year 2 Incoming!

It’s that time of year again… My second blogaversary is approaching, and will be here in two weeks, on April 19th, the day that the first terribly-screencapped chapter of Cat Chronicles was published over on LiveJournal two years ago.

Last year I wrote a story for my first blogaversary, Blogaversary: Year One, and I asked for questions in preparation of the event… but ended up not getting any so I had to improvise by making up my own and having them sent in by famous Sims instead. I’m hoping this year things might go over a bit better! (And if not… eh, if anything, I’ve proven this author will get creative and improvise!)

If you have a question you would like to ask during the Q&A session, feel free to submit them! You may ask anything you like, be it about Sims, my stories, my writing process, about being a librarian, running the The Stories and Legacies Index, tea questions, my favorite [insert something epic here], migraines, whatever! It can be poignant or totally silly, I don’t care!

You may ALSO ask questions of any characters from Cat Chronicles, as I am more than happy to open up the Mind Closet once again, and allow them to personally answer any questions you may have of them!

You may submit questions by either a) posting them in a comment on this post, b) sending them to me over the Sims forums by PMing them to mastressalita , or c) e-mailing them to mastressalita AT gmail DOT com.

I do not have many TS3 Simselves to actually have in attendance at the event, so I was thinking of dropping holding a party this year, but if you DO have a TS3 Simself and would like them to be in attendance, you may submit them in .sim format. If your Simself has custom content, I either need that custom content included separately in a zip file with the .sim file, or a list of download links for the custom content in question. I will not take .sims3pack files of the Sim with the cc already pre-installed, no exceptions. Note that I do not have Showtime, Supernatural, Into the Future, or any Stuff Packs, and clothing items from these packs won’t appear in my game. I do have all hair/clothing from the Sims 3 Store and all other Expansion Packs. These files can be submitted to me via e-mail to mastressalita AT gmail DOT com.

I will be taking questions and/or Simself submissions for one week, until April 12th.

Note that there will not be a Cat Chronicles chapter on Saturday, April 15th, as I need time to work on putting together the Blogaversary to go up on Wednesday, April 19th. Since there is an extra Saturday this month compared to normal, this seemed a good compromise to getting the extra time for working on the Blogaversary!

Thanks in advance to anyone who decides to help out by participating, and thanks so much to all of you who read this blog, whether you have been here since the start or have stumbled upon it sometime in the last two years! You guys rock!

  1. My questions for you; I hope they’re okay :D :

    1. If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
    2. How do you select the names of your characters?
    3. What are the challenges of bringing your characters to life?

I can share you Miss V but I don’t know which cc I put on her. I use a lot of sliders and custom content.
    Congratulations on your second bloganiversary.

    • I am very particular about how my Custom Content gets installed into my game, which is why I have a strict policy against sims3pack files for Sims which “pre-include” their custom content files and would not allow me to install them into my specific organized libraries for hair, clothing, accessories, skins, etc and then easily remove the things I no longer need when I’m done with it. (Plus I’ve found strange things like kitchen counters attached to Sims in their sims3pack files and don’t care to have this extra junk possibly cluttering my game/making it unstable). That is why I do require the cc files or a list of the cc used so I can download it myself, and I only take raw .sim files (which includes just the Sim data and no extra custom content). I’m pretty meticulous with cataloguing my cc (I keep links and photographs of everything) so it doesn’t take me too much effort to figure out what I have on a Sim or have used for a particular project, which is why I’m able to cite my sources for Photo Fridays, but I realize most folks aren’t like this (I only know Valois Fulcanelli on the forums keeps that meticulous of an organized cc library, heh).

I do have a healthy amount of sliders already, though they are nearly all facial, I have very few body sliders (only a few breast ones I used on a transgender Sim). Clothing usually isn’t too big of an issue if the person doesn’t mind their Sim being dressed in new clothes, but hair can often “make or break” the look of the Sim. Just trying to figure out what custom-content hair they are wearing is usually enough to “cement their look” in my opinion.

As it currently stands I may just have Cody and Todd (Sims I made back with Base Game) in attendance this year, so it’ll probably be a more subdued get together. Sims 3 parties are way harder to stage than Sims 4 where *everyone* has a Simself available for download on the Gallery. >_>

I got a simself for every game , people finds fun the sims 4 cas and easier but there are not a good excuse. Their excuses is the sims 4 is quite nice and drama limited to the people drama compared to ts3 and ts2. For simself player ts4 is the safest but I rather like play the sims 2 and the sims 3 with me because I like bad things happens.
I hate the fact I have to use process monitor to guess who is the creator of a cc I put on my ts3 has no mention of the creator as ts2. We don’t get the stunning tool as the sims 2 (called sims 2 clean installer) to get to know what package and what pack we used as we got in the sims 2 (very practical for wcif I could solve my recent one in the official forum for the sims 2 easily)
I have plenty of facial sliders as well but I don’t have any body one I deleted them.
I don’t care you put only maxis clothes on my simself . I don’t care what hairstyle you put on her.
I have package files I want to delete I don’t find them at all. The drama of the arezzo counter you mentionned only happen once and you can delete it using custard I got that trouble with my very first simself family , I could use the sims for my bsides without the counter installed.
I just hate the fact we don’t have any delete button in game as we got in the sims 2. You delete the mesh and the orphan recolours you clean it with the ddo simple.
That put me on rage because I got too much cc I want to delete for furniture and I can’t do that quickly.

None of my sims is stored as sims3pack but as .sim except my very first simself family that Mistrigriff comes from.

      • If you want to send the .sim file over and don’t care about her being dressed differently, feel free, just use the e-mail address listed on this post.

thank you sweetie. Recently she has got a small makeover but I didn’t extract her so I will sent my casual version of her. No I don’t care of the hairstyle and the clothes , as long as you keep her black or very dark brown colours.

I sent you Miss V, have fun with her . (i just hope you have the supernatural ep because I made her with)

    • I don’t have Supernatural, it just means magic Sims get demagicked in my game (that’s why in the last part of Cat Chronicles Sweetnightingale’s fairies didn’t have wings). The game automatically de-magick’s Sims in this case.

Okay there is no problem because for years she wasn’t a witch and in my current game she isn’t experienced as witch. I am glad you can use her despite you don’t have supernatural. I ignored the game does this.
